Armour Thyroid and South Beach Diet
- I had my thyroid taken out 8 years ago because of complications from Hashimoto's Disease. I gained 30 lbs. even though I was dieting. I was taking Levothyroxine and feeling tired all the time. My new doctor changed my prescription to Armour Thyroid a few months ago and recommended the South Beach Diet. I lost 20 pounds in 2 months and am continuing to lose a pound or 2 every week. I also ride the exercise bike for 40 minutes 5 days a week.

Coffee and Tea
- I could not lose weight no matter how hard I tried. Recently, I got a sample of Healthy coffee and tea. I liked that they had ganoderma in them which I looked up and saw good things about. They are very smooth. Since drinking them, I have more energy so can exercise more and I am steadily losing. Look it up yourself. http://martymartinez.organogold.com/na/biz/

Fiber
- I have increased my fiber intake to 24-30 grams per day. It is really hard to get to 30 grams, but a food journal helps me make the best fiber choices. I drink more water and have started exercising 5 days a week with cardio and weight lifting. This has stopped the weight gain and I have lost a few pounds. The high fiber diet really helps me feel full all day and I no longer crave sweets and fast food.

Losing Weight Despite Being Hypothyroid
- A lower dose of Synthroid supplemented with Armour worked for me! I started losing weight almost immediately after TEN YEARS (packing on 60 lbs. in the meantime). Guided by the glycemic index, I started being really careful about the carbohydrates I ate. Four or five visits a week to the gym with 40 minutes of cardio activity helped rev my lagging metabolism. Six months later I'd lost half the weight! I make sure to add loads of fiber, substituting beans for meat (great protein source) whenever possible. I eat loads of salad and raw fruit. I drink no soda or alchohol. I drink lots of black and green tea. I eat whole grain cereal with almond milk most mornings. Sometimes I eat omlettes a couple of times a week. I love to cook and am happy to continue to eat well. I doon't miss the bread or starchy vegetables one bit. When I HAVE to have a sandwich, I make sure to get whole grain bread. I am totally encouraged by my success, and you will be too! It's eating as a way of life - not a diet!

Diet Secrets
- My nutrition-oriented friend suggested that I try to eat more salads, vegetables and fruits. After the wake-up call of a gallbladder removal, I decided to make this change. Since I live alone, I make a lot of TV dinners, but I choose a combination of Lean Cuisine and Amy's and add a salad to that. For breakfast, I eat yogurt, fruit and oatmeal. I drink a whole lot of water and walk 20 minutes daily to change my metabolic weight. I didn't seem to lose weight at first, but it's been about 6 weeks and I've lost 20 lbs. I also don't drink alcohol at all for now because of the excess sugar calories.

Triathalon for Mind and Body
- I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's postpartum, so not only did I gain weight from the disease, I was never able to lose the baby weight (total of about 25 lbs). After getting properly medicated with Synthroid, I signed up for a triathlon. I trained for it by running, swimming and biking for a total of 6-7 hours a week for about 3 months. Eating a low calorie diet along with the training, I managed to lose the weight and finish the triathalon. I finally feel like myself again, mind and body.

B Complex Lipo - It works!
- I have been taking the B-Complex Lipo or B cocktail shot weekly for 3 months now. I have so far lost 20 lbs. and feel like the person I was over 10 years ago before my weight started tilting the scales. I know some have their doubts, but this has been a godsend for me since I suffer from Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I plan to continue this regimen. If people would read closely the about the B family of vitamins you will note it is a detoxifier, lowers cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure, and it also helps panic disorders without having to take the anti-depressants general practitioners love to pass out.

Irene
- TCM is the best I have found to support depressions and anxiety as well as organ support for both hyper and hypothyroidism. I wonder about the medical profession that when given hyper symptoms decides to make a hypo diagnosis without any understanding of the symptoms left to the unsuspecting sufferer to deal with for the most part without any care whatsoever. My description for such abusive medical treatment for hypothyroidism is the only treatment they come up with is having one's leg amputated for a broken toe. This leaves one with worse symptoms and less information to decide and deal with life and affects all organs and quality of and for life. In addition, depression and symptoms are made worse like heart issues due to metabolism and high cholesterol. The medicine does not help with quality of life. No diet is helpful and exercise is nearly impossible for continued health. Replacement hormones are not much use at replacing normal thyroid function for your body.

Nutritional Depletion and Toxicity
- After years of struggling with weight loss and fibromyalgia, I found a complete program that really works. It primarily consists of an organic whey protein shake and a gentle cleansing drink. After about 3 weeks on the program, my fibromyalgia symptoms disappeared. I was losing weight and felt great. This, coupled with Armour has changed my life. I have a shake for breakfast, cleanse about 2 times a month, and feel great. I guess I wasn't getting the nutrients I needed and the toxins were slowing me down. I always want this stuff in my body! I'm never going back!

Slimming World
- I have had a weight problem since childhood and chronic fatigue for the last 20 yrs. I was diagnosed hypothyroidism nearly 2 years ago when I was at my heaviest ever. I joined 'Slimming World' [in UK and available online]. Since last August, I have lost 65 lbs. and I'm never hungry! I also walk my dog twice a day for about 30 minutes. Just a few more pounds to get to my target weight, a UK size 22 to 12. I would recommend Slimming World because I have always had a large appetite and portion size is irrelevant.

Weight Watchers Works for Me
- I signed up in mid-June and have lost 34 pounds to date. I'm not hungry, except around my period when I allow myself chocolate and potato chips, just enough to take the edge off. Other than that, it's just a matter of sticking with it. I do sugar-free instant breakfast in the morning (2 packs mixed in 12 ounces skim milk. It's thick and creamy and only 5 points.) For lunch I have a can of light soup (Progresso and Campbells have WW point values right on the can and most are only 2 points for a whole can!) Along with the soup I have a salad with light or fat-free dressing. For supper I eat a salad and a frozen dinner. Check out the frozen section and you'll see there are about 3 brands that have WW point values. The dinners make it easy for me to keep myself in line. I eat "regular" food too. I just have smaller portions and choose more vegetables. I plan my eating out so I know what I'll have and how many points it will cost me. I feel great!

Weight Loss
- I've recently lost 65 pounds. 28 of it was from a low-fat diet and the other 37 was with low carbohydrate diet. The low carb diet made it easier and it came off faster. I did exercise 4 times a week doing water aerobics and the treadmill. I'm now at a stand still and still need to loose 45 pounds so I'm still trying different things.

Down 70 lbs. with A Bit of Help
- I have lost 70 pounds doing it slowly and steady. I have taken all processed foods out of my diet. I followed Dr. Oz, Gillian McKeith, and Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser then worked from there. I exercise at least 30 minutes a day 6 days a week with one day for rest. Usually it is an hour or more per day. I also count calories with a program on my computer. It has been almost two years but I am very close to my goal with 10 pounds to go. I now Jazzercise 3-4 times a week and run the other days. I also portion all of my food. I eat anything I want but I just watch the calories, eat good clean foods, and cook 99% of everything I eat and exercise. There's no magic pill but I feel very very alive. If you are consistent you will get results. I hope someone finds this a bit inspiring as it has become a way of life for me and is totally sustainable for the rest of my life.

Gluten and Dairy
- I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's about 2 years ago. I found a great doctor who prescribes dessicated porcine thyroid extract. The weight began to drop. I also gave up gluten and dairy. Not only did I lose the potbelly, I felt tremendously better. I am now able to exercise which was an impossibility when I was fatigued and suffered from fibromyalgia symptoms which have all gone. I do pilates, yoga, and walk the dog. Because I don't drive, I walk everywhere. At 46, I feel better than I did at 30 despite the Hashimoto's.

How I Lost 130 lbs.
- I have been told all my life that I was "borderline hypothyroid." With new guidelines in place, I finally got on Synthroid 3 years ago. I lost 40 lbs. right away doing NOTHING! When it occurred to me I could actually lose weight by dieting, I slowly lost another 40 lbs. eating 1800 calories a day by eating a BIG breakfast, no sugar or white flour, three meals and 2 snacks a day. My weight loss stalled after that, so I finished up with a gastric bypass (Roux en Y), and lost 60 more lbs. In all, it took me three years to lose all the weight, but by golly I got it done. Maintaining my weight is not a problem. I eat a diet which is VERY close to nature. I grow my own organic vegetables and eat absolutely no processed foods. Needless to say, my overall health is greatly improved.
