Tell Us About Your Thyroid Condition and Your Fatigue

I was diagnosed in 2004 and felt lazy, lethargic, sleepy to the year 2009. I am on 50 mcg of Levothyroxine.

What Are You Doing to Deal With Your Fatigue

I started taking the medication at bedtime. I got immediate results in the morning when I woke up. I was given a different medication for this phlegm build up that I have & I meant to take that one, but instead I accidentally took the Levothyroxine. When I woke up, I was ready to get up. I ate a piece of toast with 3 sips of coffee, and I was ready to start my day. I kept moving all day because I felt so energetic. So for consistency, I took it again at bedtime and felt better & better in the days ahead.

So much has changed with this small adjustment. I get up earlier, I am ready to get up when I awake, I am ready to start my day within 30 minutes, I am no longer feeling lazy, lethargic. I can do what I want & need to do, daily.

I will never go back to taking it in the morning!

I got my life back.

Advice

  • I learned on my own that taking the medication at different times IS an option. The doctors & pharmacist are not always right in advising us to take it in the morning.
  • I learned that if this doesn't work I can always try something else. I tweak the times I take it.
  • If I get up earlier for school, I go to bed earlier and take the medication earlier to adjust to my schedule.
  • I find that 6 hrs is good enough absorption to feel the energy I need to live life.
  • I recommend trying a different hour & if that doesn't work, you can always go back to what you were previously doing or try something else.
