Tell Us About Your Thyroid Condition and Your Fatigue

I had my thyroid removed 6 years ago due to cancer. I have had no get up and go for years. I just got stuff done when I really had to. It's not a nice way to go through life!

What Are You Doing to Deal With Your Fatigue

My new, great doctor put me on Cytomel! She lowered my Synthroid and added 3 tablets of Cytomel in the morning. I feel so much better and have even lost weight, over 20 lbs!

I told my last doctor that my heart was racing at night, so much so that it was scary and kept me awake. (This did not help the fatigue either.), but she did nothing! My new doctor listened and said I am hyper now; my T4 was too high. That's why she lowered the Synthroid and added the Cytomel. It's so nice to be listened to.

I feel much better now, and my racing heart is almost normal. I am still working on finding the right dose of Synthroid, but we're almost there.

Advice

  • Find a doctor that listens to you and is up to date on the latest information.
  • Do your homework and know what is going on with your health.
  • Speak up, and don't take no for an answer!
  • Get out and exercise, and watch the carbohydrates.
