In the little over a year that I have been on Weight Watchers I have lost 76 pounds. I was up to 356, lost 15 pounds by exercise alone, and realized I needed something more. My daughter started Weight Watchers at work (she is also hypothyroid), and so I joined online so we could support each other. She's lost 54 pounds.
Weight Watchers is easy to follow, the point system is fun to work with (especially with the online tools). I never feel hungry, eat three meals and three snacks a day, and with the weekly points allowed I know that if I really want something, like chocolate, etc., I can have it. I don't feel deprived. I have, however, learned to eat better--changing my lifestyle.
I also am in a great Weight Watcher group through Yahoo groups (Serious Weight Watchers) that has been a wonderful support.
With my weight loss I've been able to come off my blood pressure medication (I was on two) with my doctor's approval and my cholesterol is down.
I cannot say enough good things about Weight Watchers. I've tried a lot of different diets for the past 40 years and either could not stay on them, or they didn't work after the first week or so after you lost the initial fluid, etc.
