It became a usual occurance for me to weigh in the morning, then burst into tears. I was eating about 1400 calories a day, keeping a precise food journal, burning 1000 calories at the gym, and still gaining weight. I should have been losing big time, but I couldn't, even though I was on Armour, Cytomel, and Synthroid. I happened to come across a "body type analysis" online and took the little quiz. It told me that I was a "Thyroid Body Type." This was true so I thought maybe this diet knew something that I did not understand. I purchased the book that sponsored the body type website, read it, and started the diet. I was a little hesistent because it looked difficult. I was desperate because just cutting calories and exercising like a madwoman didn't work. In the first week I had lost 4 pounds! It worked! The book taught me how to minimize my Fat Storing Hormones, and activate my Fat Burning Hormones. After all, for a hypothyroid person, weight gain and weight loss is all about our hormones. The book is called "The 7 Principles of Fat Burning" by Eric Berg. I love this book. It's working for me. I feel so healthy and I finally have HOPE! I'm not hungry at all. This diet will work for you too. It's about healing your liver which is the hub of all fat-burning hormones. If you're hypo then your liver is struggling because that is where T4 is converted to T3. A struggling liver has problems breaking down food and other chemicals, so everything is stored as fat. Heal the liver, burn the fat.Did you successfully lose weight on this diet?
YesHow much weight did you lose so far?
10 lbs or lessPros for Thyroid Patients?
I didn't have much to lose, only about 6 pounds, but it's those last few that are the hardest. Nothing worked until I started this diet. It's awesome and I feel so healthy, not at all hungry. Heal your struggling liver, convert T4 to T3 more easily, and ignite the fat burning hormones.Cons for Thyroid Patients?
The diet includes cruciferous veggies, which may cause a goiter. However, Dr. Berg says that you can add alfalfa to your diet to replace the iodine lost. I have done this and I have not noticed a difference in my thyroid function.Would you recommend this to a friend?
