Dealing With Overmedication

Typically, the "treatment" for overmedication is to cut back the dosage, until blood test levels return to the normal range* and overmedication symptoms are eliminated. Your doctor should restest you and re-evaluate your symptoms frequently, until your dosage and levels are stabilized, and the overmedication is resolved.

* Note: as of May 2006, doctors and endocrinologists do not agree on the "normal range" for standard thyroid blood testing. For more information, read about the TSH Test and its guidelines.
