What You Need to Know About Thyroid Disease

A Recap of The Web Site

Dateline: 5/11/98

Welcome to my Thyroid Disease web site! It's been a year since I started the site, and I thought it would be useful to recap the many things available at the site. As always, I invite you to email me with comments, questions, and ideas about the site.

There are five main features at the site:

  • Annotated links: I keep up on the latest web sites and news sources featuring information on thyroid disease, and compile them into lists of links, with descriptions. There are more than 20 separate links lists for subjects such as hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's disease, Graves'/hyperthyroidism, weight loss, thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules, and much much more. You can see the entire list a master links list. If you are looking for detailed information on what's available on the net on a particular thyroid-related topic, this is the place to start your search.
  • Original articles: Each week, I write an article about a facet of thyroid disease that is of interest to patients. I've talked about weight loss, depression, related diseases like fibromyalgia, thyroid news, different thyroid hormone replacements, the Synthroid controversy, and more. To see a complete list of all the feature articles I've written, click here..
  • Latest News: I compile the latest thyroid news and feature it at the site. This is where you can stay up on recent news.
  • Bulletin board: I have a very active bulletin board, where you can post question and comments, read others posts, and generally share your experiences with other people who have thyroid disease. Visit the boards now!
  • Chat: The chatroom is a great place to meet others with thyroid disease 24 hours a day, and exchange experiences and support. Visit the chat room now!

Separately, I also write and edit separately "Sticking Out Our Necks," the Thyroid Disease News Report. It's a free, biweekly email news report sent to anyone interested in receiving up to the minute information about thyroid disease.
