I have had much success with using the G-Index diet. Since I found this
site in late September and bought my book by Richard N. Podell, M.D.
called
The G-Index Diet, I have lost 18 pounds. I have been hypothyroid
since I gave birth to my daughter over 2 1/2 years ago and I can tell you
that weight loss was a big struggle for me. What I could do so
effortlessly before I was diagnosed with this disease, became a major
heartbreak for me. I ballooned out this last summer after I had my
gallbladder surgery to 148-lbs on my medium petite 5'2" frame. Despite
working out and dieting I just was not able to lose the weight. I would
lose only inches here and there. My weight yo-yo constantly throughout
short time periods. It could fluctuate by as much as 12-lbs. Your advise
to try a low Glycemic diet was right on the money. The best thing that I
found out about the diet is that you don't necessarily have to give up all
the foods that you love, you just need to learn when you can eat them.
Monthly In-Depth Thyroid News Report
I now in addition to taking my synthroid every morning, eat a low G-index
diet, and excercise five times a week. This has worked for me and I hope
that it can help others.
Thank you for the advice,
Lisa
