First Round -- Devers Qualifies, Runs Fastest Race
In the first round qualifying heats for the 100m hurdles, which took place 11:30 a.m., on Monday, September 25, 2000 at Olympic Stadium in Sydney, Gail Devers came in first in her heat, with a time of 12.62. Devers ran the best of all runners participating in five heats, which clearly puts her in strongest contention for the gold medal in this event. The next best time was 12.75, by Jamaica's Brigitte Foster.
Second Round -- Devers Qualifies, Runs Third Fastest Race
In the second round qualifying heats for the 100m hurdles, which took place on Monday, September 25, 2000 at Olympic Stadium in Sydney, Gail Devers came in first in her heat, but third out of the round, with a time of 12.77. The best time in the heat was 12.66 by Kazakstan's Olga Shishigina.
