Feb. 12, 2002 -- New research reported on in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism showing vast underdiagnosis of thyroid disease in the U.S., and undertreatment of current thyroid patients, underscores need for patients to become "knowledgeable advocates for themselves if they have any chance of getting well," says patient advocate.
