Do You Have Irritable Male Syndrome?

April 2002 -- We know that hormonal fluctuations can affect men, sometimes as much as women. Male thyroid patients, in particular, tend to suffer from greater fluctuation in hormones, especially testosterone.

Now experts have named a newly recognized condition, "irritable male syndrome," which apparently can turn "confident, chest-beating Tarzans into withdrawn, grumpy wimps," due to sudden drops in testosterone.

While some experts call it "male menopause," others believe that it can affect men of any age when stress levels cause testosterone to drop.
