Broda Barnes Foundation Offers Innovative Endocrine Conference 9/02 That Explores Thyroid and Immune Issues for Thyroid Patients

August 2002 -- The Broda Barnes Research Foundation has scheduled an innovative program for their 2002 Fall Endocrinology Conference. For both practitioners and patients, the conference focuses on cutting-edge research and medical treatments for thyroid and endocrine dysfunctions. The conference will focus specifically on unrecognized endocrine immune defects, the importance of certain fatty acids to total health, cortisol deficiencies, immune system activation and other important issues.

Popular speakers will also address issues of interest to thyroid practitioners and patients, including, among others:
  • poor conversion of T4 to T3
  • Hashimoto’s and Graves Disease
  • estrogen metabolism
The conference is taking place from September 20 - 22, 2002 at the Westin Stamford Hotel in Stamford Connecticut.

Some of the speakers include:
  • David A. Brownstein, M.D. – In private practice in Farmington Hills, Michigan, David A. Brownstein, M.D. is the author of three books, The Miracle of Natural Hormones, Overcoming Thyroid Disorders and Overcoming Arthritis. He is the principal investigator on two research studies, and is a clinical assistant professor of internal medicine at Wayne State University of Medicine.
  • Denise Mark, M.D. - A private practicing physician in California, Denise Mark, M.D. specializes in treating women and men with hormonal imbalances. During the past ten years Dr. Mark has expanded her training and clinical care to incorporating the latest knowledge and research in the field of holistic medicine.
  • Alfred J. Plechner, D.V.M. – Alfred J. Plechner, D.V.M. is a practicing veterinarian and partner of the California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles. For nearly three decades, he has researched and treated multiple diseases of T-cell and B-cell deregulation by correcting endocrine-immune imbalances.
  • Bruce Fife, N.D. – Bruce Fife, N.D. is a researcher and author of several books on natural health and nutrition. His most recent books include The Healing Miracles of Coconut Oil and Eat Fat, Look Thin: A Safe and Natural Way to Lose Weight Permanently.
  • David Berg, M.S., C.I.S., F.A.H.A. - David Berg, M.S., C.I.S., F.A.H.A is the director of Arizona Coagulation Consultants and HEMEX Laboratories in Phoenix, Arizona, which performs coagulation testing. Since 1994 HEMEX has been closely involved in clinical research involving chronic illnesses and has set forth new ideas about low-level coagulation activation, fibrin deposition and potential therapies.
