Hormone expert Dr. Kent Holtorf was on Fox Business earlier this week, talking about health reform. In the context of the discussion, he talked about how the medical system is not properly handling chronic conditions, thyroid disease in particular. Dr. Holtorf described how the TSH test misses many people with hypothyroidism, because doctors aren't taking the time to do a more thorough evaluation. See what Dr. Holtorf had to say: 2 minutes 15 seconds in on the Youtube clip of Dr. Holtorf on Fox Business.

Yay! For Dr. Holtorf! We have to debunk the idea that the TSH tests are the be all and end all when it comes to hypothyroidism!

I am indian and here we dont get any natural medicine like Armour or Nature Throid. In india all hypothyroid patients are put on synthetic T4 thats eltroxin. I have been taking eltroxin for last 6 and half years, my blood reports are always normal but I never felt my normal self ever since I developed hypothyroid diagnosed after 6 months of delivering my kid. After reading so much here about how people start feeling normal after switching to natural thyroid based medicine, I wonder where should I go and find help and convince experts that I too want to feel normal and energetic and not all the time tired. help!
