Here is the text of the statement issued by RLC Labs regarding the availability of their natural desiccated thyroid drugs Nature-Throid and Westhroid:

RLC Labs, is experiencing a substantial increase in orders for Nature-throidTM and WesthroidTM. We are working around the clock to fulfill all current orders; however, we cannot guarantee that any future orders will be fulfilled until our stock is replenished.
RLC Labs, will continue to accept orders from our customers, however as of Friday August 14th, we are backordered on all strengths of Nature-throidTM and WesthroidTM. Shipment is expected to resume within 90 days.
We regret to inform you of this situation; however, we can assure you that we are working diligently to replenish our stock and will resume shipping as soon as possible.
Please accept our sincerest apology for any inconvenience. We do understand how much of an impact this has as most of us employed at RLC Labs, are hypothyroid and take our own product. Thus, we know and understand how important it is to get product back into the market place. We are grateful for your continued patience, patronage and support!
Feel free to contact our customer service department with any questions concerning this matter at 877-797-7997.
Thank you from all of us at RLC Labs, Inc.

I think it’s a lot more then an inconvience not to be able to get our Thyroid medicine. I’m someone who cannot take synthetic medicine, so what does that mean for me. I have to go without Thyroid medicine for months, and become extremely ill, then start all over again, if, and when it becomes available again. This is unreal. I bet the people working at RLC labs who are Hypo will somehow manage to get their medication. I guess if having Thyroid disease was fatal without medication, those of us who can’t take the synthetic would just be allowed to die ( i’m sure their response would be, sorry for the inconvenience ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have commented here before. I was told by Medco, just now, that RLC labs are only supplying their current customers, so they’re unable to get the medications. Don’t know if it is true – just letting anyone out there reading this column what I’ve learned.
Not true. The Costco where I get my rx filled is a current client of RLC=they special order for me every month.Once the 150 tablets they currently have on hand are gone, they won’t be able to get any more.
I currently have about 2 months meds left. Not enough. The others make me ill. I am scared to death — I want to keep my job, and my life. I WANT SOME EXPLANATION as to why our lives are at risk. WHY did this happen?
I assume this happened due to so many people switching from the new Armour formula. I would bet that RLC was not ready to ramp production to any extent and have been caught flat footed. If that’s the case, it may take them some time (3-6 months) to get a new production line up.
Hi John,
I think that, also–but I would like to know why it began in the first place with Armour, and why most professionals don’t agree with these drugs……why you have to fight in many ways to get them in the first place and then now. I don’t know what I’m going to do; I just switched to Nature-Throid 2.5 weeks ago and still don’t feel very well; although better than the first 2 weeks. What is all the fuss with providing people with meds that work?
Just really frustrated here……..
It just looks like a conspiricy! Some money hungry corporation does not want a drug out here that actually improves overall health. Look at the moey they lose in drug sales when the depression is lifted, lipids go down, obesity can be reigned in,mental fog goes away, muscle strength increases. They would much rather have us declining in health, fat, depressed, weak and too tired to speak up.Then we can line their pockets taking handfulls of drugs during our fatigued and miserable slide to our graves.
I’ve taken Nutri-Meds porcine thyroid capsules for years and I love it. Works great.
I live in the UK and was diagnosed with an under active thyroid 3 years ago, i used to take t4 & t3 synthetic meds which did not work for me, as my GP would not look at any alternative meds I researched natrual meds myself. brought nature thriod over the net and with in weeks saw a big improvement. Since I can not get a prescription for nature thriod am getting extremely frustrated with the lack of information coming out, does anyone know what is going on?
The reason .. well one of them.. as to why this medication was not able to get to all.. was that so many are switching to it.. Armour.. also had a problem with their batch.. so Westhroid was use in its place..so not only did you have the regular patients for Westhroid.. but they also had to fill the Armour patients as well.. they are up and running just fine.. i got my 1 gr tabs through medco today.. 90 day supply.. am very grateful.
