Katie Schwartz of DearThyroid.com -- who has been interviewed here -- did a wonderful one-hour podcast this week with internet guru Mark Davidson, talking about the growing community of thyroid patients, and the importance of humor and social networking in any patient community, but in particular, thyroid patients. I highly recommend you listen to what Katie shared about the thyroid patient community.(And if you didn't read it last month, don't miss my interview with Dear Thyroid's Katie Schwartz and Liz Schau. )

katie has opened my eyes about my thyroid problems, and introduced me to both you, mary, and others who lead the way for better understanding–which, i hope, leads to better funding.
i adore her humour, her support, her dealing with her own issues with that butterfly that isn’t so pretty… she never fails to check in and see how i am… and always seems to do it when i need it most.
she makes me believe i can get this under control, and all of you lead us to know with support and diet and the right meds, we’ll win this battle.
she’s the best (even if she didn’t use my “thyroid: the little gland that can” idea for tshirts!)
