Here is perhaps the most important fact that thyroid patients need to know. According to the Centers for Disease Control, eating pork does not transmit the virus. And since thyroid medication undergoes rigorous processing, including a cooking/heating phase, the chance that it would transmit any forum of virus is almost non-existent. We don't, for example, have any concerns about transmission of diseases found in pork -- like trichinosis -- from desiccated thyroid medication.
Still, I will be checking with the manufacturers to get more specifics on this, and will report on this as soon as I have more details for you.

Since I just started taking armour thyroid – there has been shortage around here – wonder why? Also, have a cold, sneezing, mucoussy gross thing – thought briefly about whether it was swine flu?
What about the possability of trichanosis in a natural dessicated cold processed bovine or porcine thyroid supplement from the same manufacturing plant? I have done both compounded
“armour” and the low hear bovine during the armour shortage and now have to be on Flagyl for various infections. Could trich be part of the picture?
