I regularly receive emails from people who say "What about me? I don't have a thyroid! You're not writing anything for me!"

Actually, I DO write about people who have no thyroid all the time. People with no thyroid may not realize it, however, because they may never be told that without the gland, they're now "hypothyroid." Don't have a thyroid? Find out more about life without a thyroid gland.

Mary, I believe the sans thyroid patient was trying to say that the vast majority of the hypothyroid advice available is geared toward jazzing your thyroid into action. It is frustrating to seek advice for post-surgical hypothyroidism when the vast majority is aimed at increasing thyroid function. It simply does not apply to those sans thyroid. Sure the symptoms are the same, but we have no hope of increasing thyroid function. Thanks for recognizing us.
