Drug maker Exelixis has announced that the FDA has agreed to phase 3 trial of the company's XL184, an anticancer compound that is a potential treatment for medullary thyroid cancer. The trial of 315 patients will be coordinated by thyroid cancer experts from the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and the Institut Gustave Roussy in Paris, France.
