I have changed my diet plan also and have lost 15 pds. I have been avoiding things that cause yeast which can affect your thyroid also. I took chocolate, coffee, sugar, non organic meat, yeast (and products that contain yeast)wheat, alcohol, corn and cow’s milk out of my diet. There are plenty of other foods to eat believe it or not. I feel so much better and best of all I have lost weight. I don’t eat soy or drink soy milk. I do drink goat’s milk and goat products. I believe the problems for me have been because of yeast primarily along with being 49, menopausal and having a low thyroid. I feel the yeast has made all of these things much worse. I take Armour Thyroid, selenium and work out. Lynn in Texas
I live in England where I dont have to pay for any medicines at all. If you have a life long illnes ie Thyroid or anything else you are granted a Medical Exemption Certificate. Dont you have this in Ameerica? It is really handy as it saves alot of money.
Hi Laura,
No we do not have this in American. If you cannot afford your medication you simply have to go without until you can save up the money to purchase it. It is especially difficult for the elderly living on fixed low-incomes. Occasionally, some areas may be lucky enough to have a charity located in the area that can offer some help in purchasing prescriptions on occasion, but even this is rare.
Armour Thyroid has been dropped from all of the Medicare prescription plans as of 12/2008!
There is a 90 day transfer (roll over) so I was able to get my 3 month supply covered in 2/2008.
The Senate and Congress did this to the Medicare ( and probably Medicaid too) to no longer cover Armour. Probably from pressure of doctors that want Armour off the market.
With the upcoming election, there has been talk about expanding the government health program to others.
So this affects everyone!
We need to get a large petition going, and send it too all the congressmen and senators who voted to deleate Armour from the Programs.
