Updated Thyroid Cancer Guidelines

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has updated its Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology - Thyroid Carcinoma. The updated guidelines include information on post-surgical therapy for papillary, follicular and Hurthle cell cancer. Specifically, the Guidelines include recommendations as to whether a thyroid cancer patient should receive radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment after surgery.
