Updated Thyroid Cancer Guidelines

Monday June 4, 2007
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has updated its Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology - Thyroid Carcinoma. The updated guidelines include information on post-surgical therapy for papillary, follicular and Hurthle cell cancer. Specifically, the Guidelines include recommendations as to whether a thyroid cancer patient should receive radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment after surgery. The guidelines also include information on how to manage symptoms in advanced cancers. The NCCN Thyroid Cancer Guidelines are available online in PDF format.

This is excellent! Really shows how they are treating each type of thyroid cancer. I printed a copy (68 pgs.) for my doctor!
