Anna Nicole's Thyroid Condition

Monday March 26, 2007
She suffered from bouts of depression, and she had very public weight fluctuations, but despite these symptoms, did anyone ever test Anna Nicole Smith for thyroid disease? We may never know whether before her death, Anna Nicole was diagnosed or treated for thyroid disease. But we do know that the coroner's report on her autopsy, released today, found that Smith had chronic thyroiditis / Hashimoto's thyroiditis. And the report gave no indication that Smith was receiving any thyroid treatment, or that thyroid medications were found in her system.

Thankfully, people are staring to pay attention to the health issues that Anna Nicole Smith suffered from. But it is a shame that the media neglects to question her health issues and the possible relationship to her breast implants. Hundreds of thousands of women sick from their breast implants, including an inordinate amount of women with thyroid issues. Breast implants do cause autoimmune responses in many women (not all, but many) and Anna Nicole Smith is just one example of how tragic their end can be without proper treatment.

And her thyroid problem was undoubtedly caused by her breast implants, as was mine and thousands of others.

She also was thought to have LUPUS, another autoimmune disease, ALSO associated with breast implants.

depression/anxiety/weight issues/described as borderline personality (1/3 of borderlines have thyroid antibodies)/migraines, respiratory problems/seizures, and more….one more hashi’s case unrecognized by the physicians? and the patient medicated for the symptoms instead of treating the origin of the problem.

Anna was also suffering from depression, from what I understand Hypothyroidism and depression go hand in hand. Although we will never know, but could it have been possible if Anna Nicoles Thyroid condition was taken care of would she be here today?

Hashimotos thyroiditis was caused from my breast implants. I was treated and continue to take thyroid medication and will always have to. It’s a real shame that that simple test could have helped Anna Nicole in her life. Why was she taking Topomax? Was it for seizures or migraines or both. Another issue.

I looked at the many photos and shots of her neck during all the news caps and thought “Look at that goiter”, but then I thought “Oh, ya know you’re just obsessed with thyroid issues, since YOU have Hashimoto’s yourself”. I thought often about all those wild fluctuations in weight, the slow speech (at times when I would consider that she wasn’t on tranquilizers and the like), and I thought “Low thyroid to me, this is what I see from all my research over the years”. Yes, the implants, but then, also all the stressors in her life, to boot. Wondering if her family, mother, etc….display thyroid disease? What a shame, such a haunting story to me.
