The upcoming Thyroid Cancer Workshop in Arizona on March 3 was featured in the Arizona Republic this weekend. The article profiles Gail Gundling, of Scottsdale, a thyroid cancer survivor for forty years herself, and organizer of the upcoming workshop.

And, just to recap... ThyCa, the Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, will offer a FREE one-day workshop for thyroid cancer survivors, their families, caregivers, and friends on Saturday March 3, 2007 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at Scottsdale Healthcare, Shea campus, 9003 E Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ.

ThyCa Phoenix Thyroid Cancer Support Group has organized the workshop in cooperation with the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center at Scottsdale Healthcare. Attendees may register on site at the workshop.

This workshop is FREE and open to people at all stages of testing and treatment for all types of thyroid cancer, as well as their families, friends, and caregivers.

Presentations and question-and-answer sessions will cover guidelines for diagnosing thyroid cancer, thyroid and neck surgery, recurring disease treatment, Radioactive Iodine therapy and nuclear scans, the low iodine diet, physical therapy following neck surgery, and community and financial resources for the cancer patient.
