Today is Dalai Lama's 70th Birthday: Celebrate by Winning a FREE Book That Can Help You Change the World!
The Dalai Lama, Tibet's spiritual leader, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and unofficial head of Tibet's exiled government, is celebrating his 70th birthday today, July 6, 2005. While 70th birthdays are always a landmark birthday, they are particularly important for Tibetans, as they signal the official "start" of old age. The Dalai Lama has pledged that as long as he lives, he will continue to work in service of others.
To celebrate this auspicious birthday, I gave away four copies of Isabel Losada's new book, A Beginner's Guide to Changing the World: A True Life Adventure Story as prizes to site readers! The copies were given to the first four people who emailed me with the correct answer to a simple but very important question posed once by the Dalai Lama:
According to the Dalai Lama, what one thing (and it's a one-word answer!) is the purpose to life?
THE ANSWER? Happiness!! Congrats to our winners, who will be getting copies of Isabel Losada's new book. And thanks to everyone who contributed their answers, which included compassion, love, balance, and other wonderful ideas!! Don't miss the wonderful interview with Isabel on Alternet as well, to find out more about the Dalai Lama and the book.
