The Holidays are Over: No More Carbo Overload!!

Thursday December 30, 2004
Now that the holidays are over, Susan James says it's time to wean off the sugar and carbs, and start getting back on track, diet-wise. I know I'm doing this. What about you? Get some good tips from Susan.

The Day After Christmas (Weight Loss)

Susan James

As I write this, it's the day after Christmas...and it's the first day of my weaning myself off of sugar and carbohydrate overload.

Yes, I succumbed to all of it for 2 full days. I ate way too much sugar and way too many carbohydrates. However, I did enjoy all of it. I knew that I would. This is probably the one time in a year, that I will say yes to letting people stuffing me with things they love to bake and cook.

I am a bit choosy however. As most of us know, there are some foods around this time of year, that you know particular people are really good at. It's their best cooking and baking time. I'm not a baker, and although I can cook pretty well, it's not a hobby like it is for lots of people. There's never any pressure from me for people to eat things, just because I fixed it. I'm not *that good* at it. So, I only eat lots of what I know certain people have a knack for, and it's a creative expression for them. I just don't intend to wear it on my hips!

Today is the day after Christmas, and I can't take anymore. Today is my first day of NO Sugar. I have to purposely make 2 No Sugar Days, so that I will cure myself of all the things that sugar brings me; like lethargy, and the addiction of wanting more sugar, which comes with having sugar as a regular part of our eating patterns. I know it intellectually. So today is my first day of *no sugar.*

I even had people give me sugar stuff to bring back with me. I left it there. I found some good reason not to bring it back. I know myself. And I know what I really wanted. And what I really wanted, was to not add one more day of sugar to my system.

I've still got more carbs in this day than I usually eat, but Im purposely ok about that, and tomorrow will be the first low carb/high protein day.

The way this usually works for me, is that by Wednesday, my brain will be back to normal. Meaning, I will have rid myself of the cravings that both too much refined and complex sugars can give me.

It's late in the day here, and I'm moving along according to plan. No Sugar particles have grazed these lips. Tomorrow will also go according to plan.

What about you?

Are you eating your way thru the entire holiday season, which could be between 2-4 weeks, or have you gotten good enough at how this vibrational stuff works, so that you use it in your favor, and can keep things to a minimum?

Make 2005 A great Body Image Year! Make it the one you want!
