Reader Mail: "If My TSH Was Normal, Why Did I feel So Ill?"

Monday July 19, 2004
Hello Mary: I have your book "Living Well With Hypothyroidism" and have read it over and over. It has been a tremendous help to me as I have this condition and was not getting well under the care of my conventional doctor. I really am just a lab number to her, even though I kept telling her if my TSH number was in the "normal" range. then why did I feel so ill? In desperation, I looked up under "Top Thyroid Doctors" on your Web site and found a holistic doctor in Hendersonville, NC who has been treating my thyroid for less than 4 months - taking tests, giving me supplements and listening to me. He found through a blood test that I have Hashimoto's Thyroid Disease. I now am being treated by him for this condition. I shudder to think where I would be if I had stayed with my doctor and had not found this holistic doctor through your Web site. I now have an MD referred to me by the holistic doc -- Sincerely, L.L., Hendersonville, NC
